Rockstar Claims GTA 6's Trailer 2 Is Biggest Video Launch of All Time
All eyes on Lucia, Jason, as Rockstar starts smashing records early.
Grand Theft Auto 6 developer and publisher, Rockstar, told The Hollywood Reporter that its recently revealed Trailer 2 is now the biggest video launch of all time. That didn’t take long!
Racking up a fairly ridiculous 475 million views across all platforms in just 24 hours, it’s an impressive feat and just another indicator that when GTA 6 hits, it's going to hit big. As IGN notes, Trailer 1 managed some 93 million views when it debuted, but that was released exclusively on YouTube. For comparison, the closest contender from the world of film, the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, managed some 365 million views on its first day.
GTA 6 was recently delayed beyond its expected 2025 release window and will instead launch on 26th May 2026, at which point it will undoubtedly break an entirely new slew of records. It’s quite considerate of Rockstar to let other developers know when they need to have their games released by, as anything post that date is going to be sucked into a financial black hole, with GTA 6 sucking up all the oxygen and attention for at least several weeks, possibly months, afterwards.
